Always split aces and eights
Two of the most profitable splits in the game. Pair of eights versus a low dealer card is essentially a free-roll into two stronger hands.
Stand on 17 or higher — full stop
No exceptions, even when the dealer shows a strong upcard. The math on hitting a hard 17 is brutal, and modern RNG shoes do not have streaks to chase.
Double on 10 or 11 versus weak dealer
Maximise your bet when the dealer is showing a 2 through 9 and you sit on 10 or 11. This is where most of your long-run edge comes from.
